ABOUT

Sara (she/her) is an Italian-Palestinian actor, director, writer and producer, with a passion for bringing silenced voices to the forefront. She is also the Artistic Director of Creative Vortex Productions - a female-led production company focused on bridging the worlds of community and commercial theatre.

Sara graduated from Goldsmiths University of London with a BA in Drama and Theatre Arts, but first began her acting training in Italy. For almost two decades, Sara has been involved in staging and producing a variety of shows - including two performing arts festivals across the UK and the USA, two UK tours and one-week long residency at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Sara’s credits include assistant directing for the National Theatre, as well as creative internships at London Artists Project (LAP), BBC News and Phantom of the Opera, Haymarket.

Sara is primarily a devised theatre practitioner, with a passion for community-driven projects. She has always been interested in collaborating with dual heritage and bilingual artists like herself, as a means to explore questions of cultural identity on stage. For this reason, her mission as an artist is to create work that celebrates diversity and highlights the experiences of underrepresented groups.

Sara is currently based between the UK, Italy & Spain.
